Product Review: Porselene Skincare
I received the Micro Retexturizing Cream ($40), the Enzyme Renewing Mask($35) and the Skin Renewing Facial Silk ($30). The pot it comes in looks a lot bigger than the actual product amount inside. I thought it as a great size for the price but then I opened it and there was half the product inside. All I’m saying is that it was a bit disappointing to see the amount of product I actually got. They can make a smaller pot and fill it with the same amount of product and be green! The Renewing Mask also wasn’t properly closed and it spilled and caked all over the box.
As far as pros I loved the Micro Retexturizing Cream….at first. With my first use I literally felt my face was a lot smoother just by wiping it off with my towel after my application. I also loved the light clean scent. But then I started breaking out. I have one or two pimples usually or my skin is clear. I have been battling a huge breakout of about 8-10 pimples. NOT CUTE! So I don’t recommend for people with sensitive acne prone skin like mine.
The Renewing Mask was genius (minus the packaging issue). I loved the fact that it was clear (again genius!) and it also had a great light scent. Usually I’m walking around with a green or brown face mask on my face and my toddler is complaining about my yucky face. They had me at clear. Seriously. So I applied it. It’s one of those peel off masks. Can you say OW! The mask was like a band-aid being ripped off. My eyes were tearing up during this process. I didn’t even have it on that long!
All in all I’ve seen a lot worse, but the break out and pain was not a good look for me. I barely have time for skin care and I need something that will work effectively, quickly and painlessly. Maybe this would be better for someone with less acne prone/sensitive skin. But I know this Mami right here is not going to touch that product again.

All those tretments sound very gently and soothing. And that’s bad when it comes to skin care.
I just don’t know why most people believe that skin care is a pampering affair. And are afraid to get a little rough with their skin.
The skin is tough and could take a little “harshness”. In fact the skin responds better when it is “roughed-up” slightly.
Here’s an example of what I’m taking about…
When one is selecting a glycolic pad for one’s face, how does one know what strength would work?
Well the answer is to choose the glycolic pad that stings the skin slightly. The slight sting indicates that the glycolic acid in the pad is appropriate for the pH of one’s skin. If you choose a pad that doesn’t sting slightly then the acid there is too weak. And no results will be experienced.
In other words no sting no gain.
Treatments that sting a little or make the skin a little uncomfortable produces greater results than treatments that don’t. For instance getting a chemical peel does more exfoliating and cleansing than a facial mask.
Skin care is not always a pampering experience. If you want to get the results you are looking for don’t be afraid to get a little tougher on your skin.

I have to respectfully disagree. The treatments were definitely not soothing they were too abrasive. And sensitive acne prone skin does not do well with abrasive products. Getting your skin looking great does not have to have an “ouch” factor to it. Getting a little rougher with your skin can leave some redness and blotchiness that can last for days which may not be what someone is in the market for. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave comments.

I totally use non chemical products for my skin, i get the durance provence range anytime am in Cannes France, but i have run out of it and decided to try the porselene range, but the truth is am a bit worried, they have tried convincing me their product is totally free of chemicals, but i really am not quite convinced,do you have an idea of its constituents or ingredients.

I’m not really sure what they have as far as ingredients but they were pretty harsh on my skin. My bff also tried it and hated it. For the price I gave it a thumbs down.
