Tips on Dressing for Your Curves
One Stop Plus is a great online shopping center for the curvy women. I had the opportunity to ask a few questions for tips on how to look our best this season. Enjoy!
What are good choices for curvy women?
The best choices in fashion are those that play up what you love about your body. Somehow, what you don’t like automatically gets less attention. For example, you love your breasts but think your hips were switched at birth…then wear a great scooped neck top in a brighter color and darker bottoms…no one will be looking down!
What is a good dress/top for a small chested woman if you are bottom heavy?
This season has fabulous off the shoulder and one-shoulder tops. The more bare skin you show, the more attention smaller chests will get. Also, go for the gold…literally…with one of the new metallic tops. It reflects and adds a great shine to chest, neck and face. Wear darker colors on the bottom to balance the body.
How about a full chested woman?
The key to looking great is a fabulous and supportive bra. Women look cup sizes smaller when the ‘girls’ look younger (i.e. higher). The bras are so great now that even strapless can be worn by almost any size. Also, try the racer bras or straps that cross in the back for added support and no ‘shoulder digs’. Once you’ve got the support, try a higher scoop neck top. If your bottom is rockin’ wear darker on top, brighter on bottom, like one of the great colored denims. Dressing in all one color always gives a longer, leaner and body-balancing look.
What style of skirt is also good for hourglass figures?
The hourglass body is the number 1 wish-list shape for women, so if you’re lucky enough to have it, play it up with a pencil skirt and belt. This season, one of the newest skirt shapes is the ‘tulip’ and it is especially flattering on curvy girls.
What kind of styles should they stay away from?
There are no ‘rules’ as to staying away from any styles, but adapting styles to your body is key. You covet a one-shoulder but your arms are no Michelle Obama’s, so wrap a shawl. Or, wear one of the new cut-outs that will bare your shoulders but not flaunt your arms. You don’t love yourself in jeans…try one of the looser ‘boyfriend’ jeans, cuffed up with great shoes, and you’ll be both in trend and comfortable.

I would like to take a moment to introduce you to a great new womens premium denim line. Now the jeans aren’t for everyone, the jeans focus on a group that does not get alot of attention. The Curvy shaped females. The jeans are absolutely fabulous for curvy shaped women of all sizes. The brand is Little in the Middle. The thing that makes the brand stand out is that it is sized one size smaller in the waist than in the hips, so it eliminates that awful gap in the back of your jeans that let your rear end hang out while offering a great fit. I think that this would be a great addition to your listing of jeans brands for future makeover show or just a mention to the curvy shape ladys that someone is thinking of them.
Thanks,
