Que Rica Vida Contest: La Receta De Mi Cocina
"La Receta de mi Cocina," is for those of you that consider themselves creative cooks. Recipes can range from main courses and side dishes to desserts, with each entry using at least one of Que Rica Vida’s 14 priority brands, plus additional ingredients and serving ideas. The grand prize winner will receive a
trip to General Mills headquarters in Minneapolis, where they will receive a personal tour of the famous Betty Crocker Kitchens, and its Cocina Hispana, in the company of Executive Chef Adriana Amione. The
second and third finalists will each be awarded checks for $500. There’s also monthly "People’s Choice Awards."
Entries may only be submitted on line at La Receta De Mi Cocina. Photos and videos are welcomed. No purchase is necessary to participate. Baby Phat Jeans at Walmart!
You know Baby Phat is one of my favorite brands so I had to share this with you. During one of my most recent trips to Walmart I spied what I thought were Baby Phat knock offs. Hubby stated there was no way they can replicate a logo like that without bordering on infringement. So after I took a closer look I realized they were genuine Baby Phat jeans. They only had two washes a light and dark wash and they were $20. I bought them thinking I may return them anyway because I expected a lower quality jean. I tried it on when I got home and they are a nice pair of jeans! They don’t have the detail that the "regular" Baby Phat jeans have but they are still good quality. They are midrise which I love and you can’t find that rise as much as others. I hate the muffin top that comes with Mami-hood when you wear a low rise pair of jeans. So I give them two thumbs up, if you find them at your local Walmart, check them out!

Do Makeup Brushes Make a Difference? (plus Poll!)
What do you think? Professional makeup artists swear by it. A lot of women are afraid of brushes thinking there is a technique that you must master or think the cheapie brushes included with their makeup is enough. I think the best application is with makeup brushes but you do need to know which to use. I am a faithful liquid foundation chica, and I use a foundation brush. I feel like an artist painting and it allows you to get precise, even coverage. If you use liquid foundation this is a must. I also have a blush brush and a few eye shadow brushes: an angled one, a blending one and a regular one. You also don’t have to spend crazy amount of money for brushes. ELF cosmetics has brushes for as low as one dollar! Not only are they cheap but they last a really long time!
Now, it is necessary to clean your brushes on a weekly basis in order to keep your face from breaking out. I like to use my son’s Johnson and Johnson baby wash in order to clean them. You can get a sample size (if you don’t have any kids) for around a dollar as well!
