rafely Anyone else merengeros? I have been trying to find some new merengue music to perk me up. I’ve been listening to reggeaton a little too long and as much as I like it I need a break from it once in a while. Bachata is a little too mellow and sad for me and I seem to grab on to the mood of the song I’m listening to. Merengue just makes me want to dance in my chair! Well, I found new merengue from the son of legendary merengero Rafael Rosario from Los Hermanos Rosario. The song Me Libere is hot! He gives merengue a young take kind of like Aventura did with Bachata. The song is basically talking about a breakup but he’s happy to be free of her. In one part he says “Lloro de alegria” (I cry of happiness). It’s a fresh new take on merengue as well as a breakup song. If you like merengue, you must add this song to your collection! It’s off his CD Tiempo. The music definitely is in the genes with the Rosarios!
