For May’s #LowesCreator project, we were tasked with making a project with the color of the year. I thought for this DIY I would make something beauty related so I decided to paint a jewelry box I am going to give to one of my best friend’s daughters. Since I don’t have any daughters I live vicariously through her. Especially since she’s a girly girl who loves to get her nails and hair done and loves Hello Kitty as much as I do!
So I thought this jewelry box would be awesome for her! My painting skills are not the best but hey.
I also tried to do this project I found on Pinterest and I made a huge mess with the glue. Maybe I used the wrong one? But I was going to paint the candle sticks in between the cake pans that same color. I thought it would be a great idea. It looked great in my head but not when I tried it out. Oh well, you live and learn right?
That brings me to another series of posts. I’m hoping that I can at least once a month attempt a DIY from my board on Pinterest and see how it turns out. Stay tuned for that as I’m not that crafty.
I loved the way the color turned out on the jewelry box. You can get similar ready to paint jewelry box at your local crafts store. You can actually also use this to store doll’s clothes. This would have been perfect for me to store my Barbie outfits when I was little. Hopefully I inspired you to do something fun with this color! Check out the Lowe’s Creative Ideas Bloggers Pinterest page for more ideas on how to use this color.
