I can’t lie, when I heard about Japonesque’s heated lash curler I was intrigued. I mean how hot did it really get? How would this help me curl my lashes? Right now my lashes are a struggle. They are so thin and sparse. I’ve tried semi permanent lashes where you get them redone like every two weeks but I really didn’t like the upkeep. And I didn’t have a good experience the last time I went. And just like getting my nails done, I’m not about the upkeep every two weeks.

I have tried fake lashes too but I just wished I was blessed with full lush lashes. I have quite the collection of fake lashes, but really don’t like putting them on especially on a daily basis.

So here we go with the lash curler! A heated one no less. This one from Japonesque is a mini heated lash curler that does not hurt or burn. It doesn’t really get that hot just enough heat to do the job. It’s got a handle like a mascara brush so you would comb it through your lashes. And like I said I have struggle lashes. You can use it before or after mascara. I did both, I used it before and then used it after to separate my lashes a bit.

And if you are wondering what mascara I used it was L’Oreal’s Million Dollar Lashes. It’s the one I’ve been wearing daily for a while. It definitely makes my eyelashes longer, if it also made it thicker that would be great. I may have to double up on my mascaras but again for regular workdays this works just fine. Ignore my makeup free face and undone eyebrows!

I’ve heard of beauty tricks where you use a metal lash curler and warm it up a bit before using so that it can help hold the curl. Always been too afraid to try it because I feel like there’s possibility for me to hurt myself or lose some lashes. I’m all set with that.

For $15 at Ulta, this is a great stocking stuffer for the holiday season. It’s also small enough to include with your makeup brushes. Not sure how you store your brushes, but I store them like this so it’s perfect addition.

I saw other reviews where they complained about the battery piece. It takes a AAA battery and sometimes it gets stuck when you are trying to take it out. The first time I attempted to remove the battery it was awful but the second time was way easier. It also lights up when it’s on so you don’t have to guess. It definitely gives out some heat though it’s just not as hot as a flat iron or curling iron.

Do you use a lash curler as part of your daily makeup routine? What do you think about trying out a heated lash curler? I have a 5 minute routine most days, but this is so easy I can add it to my morning makeup routine!
