Purchase the theme song from En Nombre Del Amor

Laura Laura Pausini is known for heartbreaking and heartfelt songs. The theme song from El Nombre Del Amor is not much different. En cambio no is the song played in the beginning and ending credits of En Nombre Del Amor. It’s off of her CD Primavera anticipada (Spanish Version). The CD was released on November 11, 2008 and can be found on Amazon. This is great for telenovela addicts, El Nombre Del Amor viewers and even non telenovela addicts. Laura Pausini has won many grammies and has an amazing voice. Check it out!

I’m so bad with the recaps but I must say that Carlota is a crazy biatch!! She just kills someone if they are in her way or she’s not getting her way. She uses people constantly. And the whole drama with Paloma is just ridiculous. Poor Gabriel is so sweet and he has to be dying? Why does everyone die on this poor girl! Romina is just a hot mess. I’m glad that her husband left her. She deserves everything that’s coming to her. And her dad Samuel is horrible as well. Stealing money from his own daughter! This novela is full of drama. It was moved from 8pm to 7pm. Ok so who’s watching?

I wanted to continue with the tradition since last year I gave you my favorite songs of 2008. Here you will find a mashup of R&B, hip hop and Latin music! A little late but hey we’re still in January! Of course I had to add Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind (“Brooklyn Stand up!”) and I am in love with Rihanna’s song Hard which is playing as a ring tone on my phone. How can you not love the lyric “I’m the baddest chick in heels right here!” And what’s not to like about Keri Hilson? Loves! Of course, Jlo’s Loubitons is my favorite (if not only) song of JLo’s! Shaki and Lil Wayne made a hit! And Aventura….goodness what can I say? *sigh* The song with Wyclef and Luda rapping in Spanish is just hotness. Have a listen and tell me what you think!  Here’s to a great musical background for 2010!

318462472_c4a6624c96I love this time of year when the coquito starts flowing and the Christmas tree is all lit….but I can do without the snow. :) Here are my all time favorite Latin Christmas songs and albums. Perfect for playing while decorating the arbolito/tree! Feliz Navidad!

1. Burrito De Belen is my favorite. I even have it as my main ringtone for the whole season until El Dia de los Reyes/Three Kings Day. And you can get three different versions: The Aventura bachata version, the Juanes version or the original.
2. Christmas wouldn’t be complete without Noche De Paz!
3. Of course there’s Feliz Navidad. Check out this Feliz Navidad Salsa version!
4. The whole Feliz Navidad NY Latin Allstars CD is absolutely great! It’s favorite Christmas instrumentals set to salsa music! A must in any Latino household.

Enjoy!

New Music: Rafely Rosario Me Libere

rafely Anyone else merengeros? I have been trying to find some new merengue music to perk me up. I’ve been listening to reggeaton a little too long and as much as I like it I need a break from it once in a while. Bachata is a little too mellow and sad for me and I seem to grab on to the mood of the song I’m listening to. Merengue just makes me want to dance in my chair! Well, I found new merengue from the son of legendary merengero Rafael Rosario from Los Hermanos Rosario. The song Me Libere is hot! He gives merengue a young take kind of like Aventura did with Bachata. The song is basically talking about a breakup but he’s happy to be free of her. In one part he says “Lloro de alegria” (I cry of happiness). It’s a fresh new take on merengue as well as a breakup song. If you like merengue, you must add this song to your collection! It’s off his CD Tiempo. The music definitely is in the genes with the Rosarios!

Song Review Tony Dize Solos

tony I love Tony Dize he’s the romantic in reggeaton. I love romantic songs with a nice beat. Tony Dize has such a smooth voice and his new song Solos Ft Plan B does not disappoint. I’ve had some good luck with new music lately. I’ve liked everything I’ve heard! That doesn’t happen much. It’s a very slow and smooth groove and I love the way Plan B sounds. It’s different but sounds a bit retro and early 90’s to me. The game effects are cute too. Solos Feat. Plan B is definitely a download! And also check out Tony Dize’s album La Melodia De La Calle. I do prefer the update ‘do compared to the braids on his last album! Just wish we can get a full view of his face on his album covers!

Extra Tony Dize song…oldie but goodie Quizas off of the Los Vaqueros album. "Tu en mi buscas venganzas yo a ti busco un sueno" Quizas amasta a que no debiste amar." Excuse me while I swoooooonnnn! ;)

It seems like everyone’s got a song with Lil Wayne now a days. I’m sure we’ve all heard Shakira’s single Loba or She Wolf, the English Version of the song. I just heard a song on her Myspace page called Give it Up To Me featuring Lil Wayne and Timbaland produced the track. It sounds pretty hot. Another hit by Shaki! Go listen to the song and let me know what you think!

Songs on repeat on my iPod

I haven’t done one of these music posts in a while. I’ve got some oldies but goodies on here as well.  I’m sure everyone will like at least one song on my list! Enjoy!

Illegales: La Otra A great song about a girl who doesn’t want to be the other woman.

Mana: Labios Compartidos A song about a man who is sharing his woman with someone else. This is so beautifully written. But Mana is a great band so it doesn’t surprise me.
Frank Reyes: Tu Eres Ajena I know I know, there’s a theme here but this bachata song is one of my faves.
Nas Ft. Aaliyah You Won’t See Me Tonight. This, to me, is a classic. I love the first line in that song: "I’m the most wanted baby father". Just seems suitable since Kelis just had his baby.
Mariah Carey Obsessed This is a great song. *sings* Why are you obsessed with me?
Tito El Bambino Mi Cama Huele A Ti This song is off his new album El Patron which is hotness!
Outkast So Fresh, So Clean really do I need to say more? LOL
Aaliyah More Than a Woman a slow groove. I love this song. Aaliyah was always sexy without being over the top.
Angie Martinez Live At Jimmy’s I love this song. It’s like rap mixed with reggeaton.
Aventura Spanish Fly featuring Wyclef Jean and Ludacris. This is off their latest album,The Last and has Luda rapping in Spanish "Mi corazon es grande…sin ti es pequeno." If you’re not a big fan of bachata, Aventura is playing around with different styles and you may like this CD (hint hint Lisa!)

Mariah Carey’s New Single: Obsessed

Part Latina Mariah is back with a great new single that I’m sure you’ve heard by now. It’s burning the airways at least on my side of town! People say it’s a jab at Eminem but she and Nick Cannon are saying that it was inspired by the movie "Mean Girls" where there’s a line that Lindsay Lohan says "I was like, why are you so obsessed with me?" Apparently she loves that movie. I love the song! Regardless if it’s a jab at Eminem or not, I’m sure we would love to dedicate this song to someone as some point in our lives. But of course, si somos toditas bellas! :) How can men not be obsessed with us! Enjoy! I do like that she also plays the guy that is obsessed with her.

I love this song. We all know that this part Mexican has more looks than vocal talent. But I really like this song that she co wrote on her first album. She part speaks on it but it has a great beat and she just saying "I buy my own bags..you claim that you’re so hot…but you’ve got a long way to go." Enjoy the video here! There are a lot of different mixes available of this song check it out and  pick your favorite mix here. This song makes me dance even in my seat!
