It’s that time of year for the Fall Makeup Edit! I found that I absolutely enjoy shopping in my stash and switching out my makeup season to season. It’s helping me continue on with Project Pan and not buy so much. The only thing I wanted to purchase in the last few months is the MAC Selena and that was a big fail. But I heard it’s restocking online and in stores in January so I may hold out hope until then.
Anyway my latest purchase was the Makeup Revolution Blush Palette. Although I have a lipstick fetish and an eye shadow palette collection, I didn’t have much in the blush department. I purchased some summer blush but now with my tan long gone, my summer blushes look pretty orange on me.
I added three blushes, one from MAC, NYX and Milani. A NYX Illuminator and bareMinerals Bronzer. My Five Lippies by Fall was a big fail, I worked on the five lipsticks but not enough to make a dent. Plus I felt like I had a lot of bright colors and with spending 80% of my week at my full time job, I wasn’t using much of it. I love bright lipstick but it doesn’t translate well in the office.
I switched out my five lipsticks with the following lipsticks for winter:
Five NYX lipsticks (matte lip cream in San Paolo, Prague, Milan, Stockholm and gloss in Tres Leches) along with Anastasia liquid lipstick in Soft Lilac. This is a bright but muted color. This is my first Anastasia liquid lipstick and it’s pretty drying! The formula is not my favorite but I do love the color. I probably won’t buy any more. I love matte lipstick but this formula is way too much.
I kept my tried and true favorites in my fall edit, Too Faced Rose Gold eye shadow palette and my Chocolate Bon Bons eye shadow palette.
My only other purchase was a foundation. My bareMinerals foundation was drying out my skin and I wasn’t a true fan of the Too Faced Foundation I used all summer (blog post to follow). So I went back to MAC and purchased the Studio Sculpt Foundation.
It’s medium coverage but buildable. I apply with a stippling brush for a lightweight every day finish. For a special event I’d probably use a foundation brush with it. So far I love it more than Too Faced Born this Way foundation (spoiler alert!)
This is what I will be using all fall/winter! Do you switch your makeup out like your closet? I find that is so much easier to hit pan when you concentrate on a few products at a time.
