I dreamed of a marble topped vanity that I can also use as a backdrop for my makeup photos. My wallet didn’t agree with me. But that wasn’t going to stop me! I got DIY vanity makeup ideas that I want to share with you. I got a nice desk that I could use as a vanity and workstation. It had the shelving I liked and the price was cheap at $30 but it had an ashy oak finish. I got contact paper for $10 that has the look of marble and cut it to match the shelving.
Such a small detail but made a huge difference!
Here’s the desk before. I loved the layered shelving and it was still a space saver. Just didn’t think that ashy oak went with the vision I had for this space.
Here it is after! All I used was contact paper and a pair of scissors. I have some contact paper left and I’m wondering what else I can cover in marble contact paper! Or I will keep it in case I need touch ups.
Here’s what I’m working with so far. I love that I have space for my laptop along with all of my makeup. I still have some more details to work on like the light switch, etc. For under $40 I think I got a great deal on the DIY makeup vanity ideas with marble looking contact paper. If you want to try and recreate this look, I got the marble contact paper and the desk at Amazon!
I’m starting to get good at this DIY thing, I’m dying to work on so many other things. Thing is that I keep focusing on small details instead of handling the big projects. Still have quite a bit of wallpaper to remove!
I still have a bit of work to do to finish this room, throw rug, new light fixture, etc. But I’m definitely on my way!
I also did a DIY with a $10 dresser that I updated to hold more of my makeup! Check it out! I’m dying to do another one!
What do you think of my DIY makeup vanity ideas?
