This makeup tutorial is all about primers! I get this question a lot by makeup newbies. They don’t understand the importance of primer and see it as an unnecessary step. There are many different primers that can help you with most skin concerns and give you a blank canvas ready for makeup application! The beauty of primers is that since they smooth and correct the skin you end up using less makeup which means your makeup lasts longer. Not only on your face but in your makeup case as well!
During the summer months, it’s so tricky to keep your makeup from fading away in the heat. Primers along with a good setting spray will help you stay on. Primers can actually address some skin concerns as well!
Boots No 7 Beautifully Matte is a great primer for oily skin. It helps reduce shine and keeps your makeup from fading.
Neutrogena’s Shine Control Primer is another good one. It uses rice protein technology to absorb excess oil.
Dry skin may lack a little illuminating. Smashbox has a great Photo Finish Luminizing primer that also helps smooth out your skin and reduce the appearance of pores.
Red Issues, Roseaca
If you have some redness on your skin, a primer would really help neutralize that before adding your foundation.
Stila has a good Color Correcting Primer
Revlon’s Perfecting Primer also evens out your skin tone.
Eyelid primers are the best thing ever invented. Especially for a girl like me who has oily eye lids. You can use eye lid primers to help your eye shadow stay on all day while making sure you eye shadow stays vibrant and shows its true color. NYX cosmetics has some great and inexpensive eye shadow primers.
You can always wear primers on their own to get that matte, neutralizing or illuminating skin you are dreaming of!
