NYX Cosmetics is my absolute favorite drug store brand. I’ve amassed quite the collection (Mostly because Ulta always has it on BOGO 50%) but I’ve loved everything I have tried/bought. This NYX product though? It’s LIFE. My mind is blown away.
First let me say that I take the lazy way out when I apply makeup in the mornings on weekdays. Mostly because I hate mornings and secondly I have two kids that are constantly asking me questions or fighting with each other while I try to get ready. So I put on the bare minimum. Recently though I’ve been using a setting powder to help my makeup stay on and blend everything to a good finish. I ran out of what I was using so I decided to head on over to Ulta and take advantage of the BOGO. With my last Ulta Haul I purchased:
Lipsticks in COCOA (a super pretty nude brown that would look great on medium to dark skin tones) and Summer Love, a light nude that would look great on medium to light skin tones. I’ve been mixing them together to get a very pretty nude look. Mind you I’ve been using Thalia like it’s going out of style to work everyday. It’s the perfect pinky mauvey shade of nude.)
I love all of NYX creamy lipsticks they are a great alternative to matte lipsticks. They feel amazing on your lips.
Anyway, I also got NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Chocolate (because I think black would be too harsh) and I didn’t like the IT cosmetics liner I was using. I love this liner! I also took advantage of the Benefit Brow Bar and got my eye brow waxed.
Finally, I got the NYX HD Finishing Powder – Banana . I’ve been thinking of grabbing Ben Nye’s banana powder which I’ve heard raves on setting concealer. I set my makeup after concealer and foundation has been applied. Ain’t nobody got time to conceal, set, foundation (and blush/bronzer/highlighter) set. Again I do the lazy girl way, nobody got time to let their makeup cook. Especially not on a weekday.
But this finishing powder is perfect for winter where our skin gets dry and dull. It sets the makeup while giving you a bit of glow. Right now my skin is so dull I have to highlight the crap out of it on the weekends to look like a normal person. This is the perfect finishing powder for me.
Don’t ask me how much I spent. I think this is going to be the last haul for a while since we are trying to buy a house this year and put this house on the market. Which means all the makeup I have needs to be put in a plastic bin in the basement and I can only use a select amount of makeup. That’s going to be a whole entire post! Because it’s been two years since that picture and I have grown quite the collection since!
Also, I’ve included links to Amazon to purchase, in case you are snowed in and want to shop! Stay warm out there!
