The boys and I had a chance to see a sneak preview of Disney Descendants in the comfort of our own home. I was the coolest mom ever for giving the kids the opportunity to watch the entire movie before all their friends. We are big watchers of the Disney channel at home and watch all their movies and TV shows, so I must confess, I was just just ask excited to see Disney Descendants just as much as the kids were.
I didn’t even tell them what the movie was that we were about to watch , and when it started they sat as close as they could to the TV while sitting on the floor. I loved the idea of the children of the Disney Villians (Cruella De Ville, Maleficent, The Evil Queen and Jafar) were going to enroll in school with the children of Beauty and the Beast, The Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. I loved that good always prevails in the movie, much like in the fairy tales. They always gave the evil kids the benefit of the doubt, and in the end, both sides of descendants learned something.
From Disney’s press release:
As these sons and daughters of evil meet the children of goodness, their story incorporates empowering themes about self-confidence, finding the beauty within, freedom of choice, personal responsibility, teamwork, justice and empathy.
It’s the best way to explain it without giving the entire plot away! It’s also a bit of a musical. All I know is the kids didn’t move the entire time, I can’t wait for the launch on July 31, 2015 at 8pm so we can watch again (and I can save it to my DVR!)
Anyone else as excited to watch this movie as much as I am? I love Disney movies, and this incorporated a classic into a new generation of Disney lovers. Of course, having kids from great Disney shows like Jessie and Liv& Maddie play parts in the Descendants only makes it that much better!
I know I’m not the only one that loves the show Jessie!!
