My Favorite Songs of 2009

I wanted to continue with the tradition since last year I gave you my favorite songs of 2008. Here you will find a mashup of R&B, hip hop and Latin music! A little late but hey we’re still in January! Of course I had to add Jay-Z’s Empire State of Mind (“Brooklyn Stand up!”) and I am in love with Rihanna’s song Hard which is playing as a ring tone on my phone. How can you not love the lyric “I’m the baddest chick in heels right here!” And what’s not to like about Keri Hilson? Loves! Of course, Jlo’s Loubitons is my favorite (if not only) song of JLo’s! Shaki and Lil Wayne made a hit! And Aventura….goodness what can I say? *sigh* The song with Wyclef and Luda rapping in Spanish is just hotness. Hottie of The Month September: Romeo from Aventura

I’m surprised that I haven’t included him in the list of hotties I’ve got going on here. He’s so sexy to me especially his voice. Swoon!! Ok…I’ve stopped drooling for the moment. Aventura, for those of us who don’t know, is a Dominican Boy Band from the Bronx. Established in 1992, they brought bachata (a style of Dominican music) to the mainstream. Before Aventura, bachata was looked at as old people music. But they’ve mixed it with hip hop, and r&b which appealed to the younger generation. When I first heard their song Obsession, I was hooked!

Real name Anthony Santos, he was born July 12, 1981 he is half Puerto Rican and half Dominican. He’s got an angelic voice and beautiful smile. If you haven’t listened to Aventura’s latest album The Last you are definitely missing out! As an extra treat I have included the video for their latest single Su Veneno. So you can see Romeo’s voice and smile in action!! If I can just…never mind I’m married!!

Don Omar is Back with Virtual Diva!

I love Don Omar’s new song Virtual Diva . This song is hot! It’s very sensual and mid tempo reggaeton song. Nothing too fast but he’s known to give it to you nice and slow. He’s mostly singing in this song. It’s something grown up but you can still shake to it. Don Omar doesn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to hear the album! To download your copy of Virtual Diva. Bachateame Papi! Aventura’s Back!  

Let me find out! Aventura must have heard me going on and on (and on) about how they need to come out with a new album. They’ve released a new single called Por Un Segundo. Another great love song from this bachata group. I’m just so happy to hear something new from them. Yes sir! The Kings are back! It’s a very beautiful song. Download your copy of Por un segundo ASAP if you’re a big fan of Aventura like I am. This song is off their LAST album (insert tears here) aptly titled The Last. According to Blogamole they might leave their current label and may lose the rights to the name. Check out Romeo’s super-low haircut. I don’t think I’m feeling it.

Song Review RKM y Ken-Y Te Regalo Amores

This reggaeton duo came back with a salsa song. I wasn’t expecting to hear this salsa/cumbia/mambo song from them. But they can sing pretty good. Te Regalo Amores is a sweet love song off their CD The Royalty/La Realesa released September 2008. Where was I?
