Kleenex Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Contest!
I know you may be thinking this is a little late but actually it’s early. I’m talking about Hispanic Heritage Month for 2009. As you may know, Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated between September 15-October 15 every year. This year Kleenex is showing their support to us by hosting a contest.
Kleenex is looking for aspiring artists of Hispanic descent to compete for a unique opportunity to recognize and celebrate the importance of our heritage and also to give these artists the chance to showcase their work on a national level. Artists can participate up to three times with different artworks. These artworks can be digital, painting (oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic etc) weaving, metal crafting, or sculpture. Three grand prize Winners will also get $5000 cash award plus their work imprinted on Kleenex brand facial tissue cartons during the Hispanic Heritage Month this year.
Deadline to participate is JANUARY 29, 2009.

This Mother’s Day, May 11, Whirlpool brand will kick-off the fourth annual Mother of Invention Grant Program – just in time for the 100th anniversary of Mother’s Day. In the past three years, Whirlpool brand has recognized and helped more than 15 moms turn their innovative ideas into reality.
The Whirlpool brand Mother of Invention Grant Program provides seed money and expert guidance to moms to turn their invention, business or service ideas into full-fledged businesses. Contest winners receive:
A $20,000 grant for the grand prize winner
Invitation to business boot camp where winners will receive guidance from Whirlpool and industry experts
This year, we are greening the program by adding a new category focused on moms who create an environmentally friendly product/service or use natural/recycled materials to create their invention
