Hottie of The Month September: Romeo from Aventura

I’m surprised that I haven’t included him in the list of hotties I’ve got going on here. He’s so sexy to me especially his voice. Swoon!! Ok…I’ve stopped drooling for the moment. Aventura, for those of us who don’t know, is a Dominican Boy Band from the Bronx. Established in 1992, they brought bachata (a style of Dominican music) to the mainstream. Before Aventura, bachata was looked at as old people music. But they’ve mixed it with hip hop, and r&b which appealed to the younger generation. When I first heard their song Obsession, I was hooked!

Real name Anthony Santos, he was born July 12, 1981 he is half Puerto Rican and half Dominican. He’s got an angelic voice and beautiful smile. If you haven’t listened to Aventura’s latest album The Last you are definitely missing out! As an extra treat I have included the video for their latest single Su Veneno. So you can see Romeo’s voice and smile in action!! If I can just…never mind I’m married!!

 

Special Hottie of the Week: Las Tontas Edition!

Since today is the last day of Las Tontas No Van Al Cielo, I figure I’d highlight the cuties of this popular Telenovela. I have already gave hottie honors to Santiago/Jaime Camil and Patricio/Valentino Lanus. The other hotties are:

Eduardo/Alejandro Ibarra: This Mexican actor was born April 28, 1973 and has been on TV from a young age of 8 and was in countless episodes of Plaza Sesamo, the Spanish version of Sesame Street. His parents were also in the industry.

I also love Charlie/Eleazar Gomez: Another Mexican actor born May 29, 1986 (Happy Belated Birthday!) and also comes from a family of actors and actresses. They call him Chelelo and he is 5’10′. He’s currently working in a teen telenovela Atrevete, alongside Violeta Isnel (who played his girlfriend Lucia in Las Tontas).

And who can forget Tio Meno/Manuel Ibanez? I am going to miss him saying "Fuera Dolor!" But I couldn’t find anything about him on the internet. He’s been in other novelas as well in the past including Rubi. Hope you liked my Special Edition of hottie of the week!

Hottie of the Week #44-Angel Pagan

I first want to apologize for not being consistent with the hotties. I’ve been writing my posts ahead of time and I forgot all about posting something on Friday until it’s finally Friday! Well we all know about Yankee hottie A-Rod but there is another NY team that also has some good looking players!

Today’s hottie is Met’s player Angel Pagan. Born July 21, 1981 in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico this 6’1″ hottie has been playing pro ball for 4 years. He started out with the Mets was traded to the Cubs and came back to the Mets last year. Just last month, he was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Seriously I can’t find any bio on him, just stats! But I did find this great picture on Zimbio. Enjoy! Thoughts on today’s hottie? Hottie of the week #42-Tristan Wilds

I know I am going a little young this week but this Dominicanito is a cutie. Born in Staten Island on July 15, I first checked him out in The Wire on of my favorite shows on HBO. I thought he was an incredible actor and was so upset when the show ended. You can now catch him this almost-6′ hottie on the 90210 spin off. He now lives in LA and says he misses the NY smells and his arroz con pollo. He’s got four brothers and sisters and loves his mami’s cooking.

Hottie of the week #41-Alfonso Herrera

This week’s hottie Alfonso Herrera was a member of RBD, the popular Mexican group. Born Alfonso Herrera Rodriguez on August 28, 1983, he at first dreamed of becoming a pilot. He even moved to San Antonio, Texas from his birthplace of Mexico City, to enroll in an aviation school. He also was a trained actor who studied in Televisa’s performing school. He’s had some appearances in theatre and film before landing in huge teen telenovela Rebelde and forming the Latin Pop band RBD with fellow actors. He has rumored to be off and on with Dulce Maria, a fellow band member. Since fellow bandmate Maite Perroni has had luck with the telenovela circuit he may be sure to follow. Let’s see if he shows up in our next favorite telenovela!

Hottie of the Week #40

Today’s hottie of the week is fellow Brooklynite Jimmy Smits! Born July 9, this divorced Papi of two is a Graduate of Cornell University. He’s been seen in shows like the canceled Cain (I’m so upset they canceled that!) and worked on NYPD Blue after David Caruso left. He previously turned down the role played by David Caruso. He also turned down the chance to play David Caruso’s role in CSI: Miami. That might have been too much Latino hotness on one show. Adam Rodriguez and Jimmy Smits? Wait…is there such a thing as “too much” when it comes to Latino hotties? LOL!

This 6’3″ hottie loves to play characters with morals and conviction. Loves him! And if you didn’t know…his Mom is Puerto Rican and his father is Suriname. Keep doing your thing Jimmy! And stop turning down roles, we need to see you on TV!

Hottie of the week #39: Juanes

Today’s hottie was nominated by @ColombianCoffee. This Colombiano is as beautiful inside as he is outside. He was Time Magazine 100 most influential people in the world for work accomplished with his Foundation Fundacion Mi Sangre. Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez  better known to his fans as Juanes. His song, La Camisa Negra, is one of my favorite songs. He’s performed with John Legend and has won countless Latin Grammy’s. He was taught the guitar by his father at the tender age of seven. He’s also one of the only artists that has achieved global success by recording only in the Spanish language. American artists have even performed his songs onstage! If only all hotties were just as good inside as they are outside!

Hottie of the Week # 38: Laz Alonso

The power of twitter helped me find this hottie! I couldn’t remember this hottie’s name for the life of me I just knew he reminded me of Mekhai Phifer and he was definitely Latino. I asked and got the response! You may have seen this cubanito around on TV and films like Stomp the Yard and Jarhead. He will also appear in this year’s Fast & Furious coming out today and Por Vida. On TV you may have seen him on CSI Miami and he has hosted shoes on BET. He’s also appeared in music videos for Aaliyah and Toni Braxton.

Born and raised in Washington, DC this hottie has a beautiful face and a great body! Have you seen this cutie around before? Did you know he was Cubano?

Hottie of the Week #37

Today’s hottie of the week plays Erik Delco on CSI: Miami-one of my must watch shows on TV. His name is Adam Rodriguez and this Puerto Rican and Cuban hottie is 6’ tall and born in Yonkers, NY on April 2, 1975. He first aspired to be a baseball player but when a high school injury sidelined him he turned his direction towards acting.

His dad was watching the Emmy’s one day when he recognized an old friend. This old friend happened to be Bill Clark who was the supervising producer In NYPD Blue. They were reacquainted and he ended up casting Adam in a guest starring role on NYPD Blue. Talk about a big break!

He’s auditioned for roles in Brooklyn South, Resurrection Blvd , Roswell and Felicity. He’s also appeared in music videos for Jennifer Lopez’s “If You Had My Love” and 50 Cent’s “Many Men”. He is rumored to be dating Ciarra Pardo which I guess is a singer but I couldn’t find much about her on the web. Enjoy your hottie of the week! I love his chiseled features!
