Product Review: Patricia Wexler Intensive Night Reversal & Repair Creme
I know you ladies love your product reviews so here goes! I’ve been trying out the Patricia Wexler Intensive Night Reversal & Repair Creme for a few weeks. I’m always so afraid with skincare reviews due to my sensitive skin. But I figure I’d try it out and brave the consequences in the name of beauty! Plus, I do have my blemish potion that works great! Sold at Bath & Body Works, the Patricia Wexler Intensive Night Reversal & Repair Creme claims to do the following:
- Visibly lifts and diminishes lines by morning
- Speeds recovery from daily environmental damage
- Targets the appearance of deep expression lines and slackened skin
Now, I am in my last twenty (29!) but they say it’s never to early to start on your anti-aging skin care. And my skin has just been horrible lately especially with tone and texture. So I figure I’d give this a try. I must say I love it! At $42.50 it’s pricier than the other products at Bath & Body Works but it’s a good sized tub. And it’s so creamy that although it states “apply generously” I apply about the same as I would sunscreen or moisturizer. My skin is a bit on the oily side so I don’t do generous. But if your skin is normal or dry I say go for it with the generosity!
It has a light fragrance, nothing to get all excited about but hey, you’re only going to bed right? I have no breakouts from using this and my skin is definitely radiant and did I mention SOFT? I can’t believe it. Now I can’t say much about the products claims to diminish lines because I don’t have any just yet! On the site, the product has received a 4.2 out of 5 which is definitely not bad. It’s also received a 2008 Siempre Mujer Best of Beauty Awards. This is only one product in a line of products from Patricia Wexler. I definitely suggest you go to your nearest Bath & Body Works to try this one out for yourself! Stay bella!
Product Review: Blemish Potion
This product was received for review by the makers of Blemish Potion. Mami’s Time Out has not been compensated in any way for this review.
I was very interested in this Blemish Potion which by the way I love. I’ve been trying different kinds of acne creams and they weren’t working too well for me at all. Either they did nothing for my pimple or they made my skin flake and get bright red.
The blemish potion is different from everything I’ve ever tried for a few reasons. One, it’s got a handy little applicator (almost like a nail polish brush without the brush at the end) so you don’t use your fingers to apply. This makes for more precise application right on the pimple. Also, it doubles as a cover up. It goes underneath your makeup and acts like a concealer. You apply twice a day once in the morning under makeup and once again at night. In the morning it’s still there fighting to dry out that pimple.
I love that it attacks the pimple without going overboard. For someone like me with sensitive skin, it just works great at drying out the pimple without giving you a harsh reaction. My pimple was noticeably smaller in a few days without any side effects. It comes in a few different tones, I used light and it was matched as concealer perfectly. You can find Blemish Potion at Amazon for $18. This gets a huge thumbs up from me!

Product Review: Proactive Pore Refining Peel
Proactive has been a leader for acne prone skin care for quite a while. I have acne prone sensitive skin and this line of products have been great on the sensitivity part but the acne part I’m still battling. I do have some large pore especially around the cheeks so I was excited to try out this product. I have told myself before that I wouldn’t try out any more skin care solutions but I am pretty brand loyal and I trust Proactive.
When I think of pore refining peels I think of a skin care mask that peels off. This product from Proactive is interesting in that it’s on a moist towelette that goes on clear. You don’t feel the heaviness or extreme tightness of normal peels and it’s so light you forget that it’s on. I put it on during my five minute manicure and I feel it working right away. I love that they come in single use packets, no mess to clean up just a little towelette to throw away. And for my sensitive skin, I appreciate that it doesn’t peel off. The name kind of makes you think it does but it doesn’t. You wipe it gently off with a wet washcloth. I only use it once a week I have seen some results but nothing amazing. You should definitely try it out for yourself!

Caress Evenly Gorgeous for a Beautiful Tan
Huh? Did I read that correctly? But Caress is a body wash how can I get a tan from that? I will tell ya m’ija! First off this body wash (like all of Caress’ body washes) smells amazing. I can’t even explain the smell but it’s not fruity (I don’t like fruity scents too much) it’s musky almost and smells very sensual. Loves it!
But wait, how can I get a tan from this body wash? Well right now I’m sure you are all getting ready to get your tan on. I’ve been cheating and have gone to the tanning bed a few times to get my color going. My legs are seriously pale compared to the rest of my body. Anyway, you can use Caress Evenly Gorgeous to help you slough away dead skin. It’s a gentle exfoliator with burnt brown sugar and karite butter that can help your skin tone look dewey and even. Soft, smooth skin is the perfect background for a good tan whether you are faking it or baking it. ![]()

Mami Recommends: Clinique for Acne

Here’s what I thought about the product: The soap is light and foamy. My skin feels clean but I don’t have any redness or blotchiness that comes with some harsh acne soaps. The toner is nice but you have to remember to shake it prior to each use. It amazes me what my cotton ball can pick up with the use of this toner! The moisturizer also helps to treat and reduce your acne.
I love this three step system, my skin has not broken out and my old breakouts have been clearing up. It’s also improving the tone of my skin. I actually have gone out without makeup which is something I haven’t done in a really long time. Check it out for yourself I promise you won’t regret this purchase!
Product Review: Porselene Skincare
I received the Micro Retexturizing Cream ($40), the Enzyme Renewing Mask($35) and the Skin Renewing Facial Silk ($30). The pot it comes in looks a lot bigger than the actual product amount inside. I thought it as a great size for the price but then I opened it and there was half the product inside. All I’m saying is that it was a bit disappointing to see the amount of product I actually got. They can make a smaller pot and fill it with the same amount of product and be green! The Renewing Mask also wasn’t properly closed and it spilled and caked all over the box.
As far as pros I loved the Micro Retexturizing Cream….at first. With my first use I literally felt my face was a lot smoother just by wiping it off with my towel after my application. I also loved the light clean scent. But then I started breaking out. I have one or two pimples usually or my skin is clear. I have been battling a huge breakout of about 8-10 pimples. NOT CUTE! So I don’t recommend for people with sensitive acne prone skin like mine.
The Renewing Mask was genius (minus the packaging issue). I loved the fact that it was clear (again genius!) and it also had a great light scent. Usually I’m walking around with a green or brown face mask on my face and my toddler is complaining about my yucky face. They had me at clear. Seriously. So I applied it. It’s one of those peel off masks. Can you say OW! The mask was like a band-aid being ripped off. My eyes were tearing up during this process. I didn’t even have it on that long!
All in all I’ve seen a lot worse, but the break out and pain was not a good look for me. I barely have time for skin care and I need something that will work effectively, quickly and painlessly. Maybe this would be better for someone with less acne prone/sensitive skin. But I know this Mami right here is not going to touch that product again.
Get Acne, Aging and Wrinkle Problems Solved!
If wrinkles got you down, check out Lancome’s High Resolution refill 3x. It’s a triple action renewal anti aging creme with spf 15 that makes your skin more noticeably plump. It’s pricey for $76 but you do get free shipping.
If you’ve got fine lines, this collegen enriched cream helps your skin get rid of them. Dr. Brandt Skincare Lines No more can help you do just that by improving overall texture. $55 for a .35 oz tube.
If you’ve got dry skin (which I hear can cause wrinkles and fine lines later on) you can take care of that by using this Hydrogel Face Mask. Each packet contains two single use masks for $10.

Facial Products

Have you ever tried Clinique’s skin care system? Some friends of mine swear by it! They have three or four different kinds of systems that are unique to your skin type. They have one for oily skin, one for normal skin and one for dry skin and I believe one for combination skin. It’s a toner, cleanser and lotion. I’ve used it for quite a while with good results. I love that you can go to your local department store and get a consultation from one of their sales people. They ask you what you think of your skin as well as take a look and then they tell you what they think is appropriate for you. I think it’s a pretty reasonable price considering you get lots of little extras and free samples!! I love free
