To Twitter or Not to Twitter?

That is the question. I’ve heard so many things about it and I know some fellow mommy bloggers that I visit use Twitter but I just don’t get it. I’ve read about it and how this new form of “micro blogging” tells people in 140 characters or less what you are doing but I don’t feel like I’m interesting enough to tell you what I’m doing.

Really to answer the question right now I am sitting at work avoiding to work, writing a blog post about twitter. In my efforts to keep myself awake for the rest of the day I’m drinking a coke What would I be doing later? I’m watching the local (not pro) baseball team play with fellow co-workers and my family. Then working on some business stuff. That sure as hell doesn’t sound exciting. I wouldn’t follow myself. But at the same time I feel like I’m losing out on something. And then of course I fell like my Mami Blog “persona” and my business persona are different. That’s why I named my blog Mami’s Time Out because it’s a place where I can talk about whatever that entertains me (and hopefully you) at the moment. It’s where we can all just let our hair down and be ourselves for a moment. It’s like a meeting in the ladies room. Obviously you don’t act the same around family and friends as you do with business contacts. This is why I also use a handle. What client of mine would care about what color I’m contemplating for my hair or my thoughts on lip gloss vs. lipstick? You think that person would take me seriously as a businesswoman? Nope.

So what are your thoughts on twitter? Do you think it’s a complete waste of time? Do you use it for personal or business?
