My favorite thing to do is to watch telenovelas online.
The only way I used to watch my telenovelas was the traditional way…on TV. Of course when they come on I am in the middle of something so instead of watching the telenovelas live they end up getting recorded and I catch up binge watching over the weekend. But if you are on the go, or don’t get Univision or Telemundo (and its affiliates) in your area you can still tune in by watching it on Novelas Y Más online. They have video powered by You Tube that show all your favorite telenovelas.
I’m currently watching two telenovelas: Cuidado con el Angel airing on Univision at 8PM EST and Las Tontas No Van al Cielo airing on Univision at 7PM. This is the first (and hopefully last) time that I am watching two at once. I just can’t seem to keep up! But I’m so involved in both that I can’t drop them. I try not writing too much detail because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but I realized that we’re behind with episodes in the US anyway and I’m definitely behind watching telenovelas compared to the average US viewer. I went from about a week behind to about three-four days. So you’ll catch me writing about them from time to time.
So do you watch your telenovelas “live” as they are playing on TV? Or do you record and watch them later like I do? Novelas Y Más is a great alternative for someone who’s not receiving these channels in their area! Another benefit of recording is that you can skip over the commercials!
Of course if you’re willing to pay the subscription fee, then Hulu is the way to go. Hulu has an extensive library of Univision and Telemundo telenovelas and you can watch on your phone, iPad, or on your TV through your game console. I’ve honestly cancelled my cable TV because it’s so cheaper to have Hulu to watch telenovelas and TV shows and Netflix for movies along with Redbox. I love that Hulu has a whole Latino section that I can peruse to check out the latest and choose which telenovela I’m going to watch first.
You can also buy your favorite telenovelas from Amazon as low as $5! That way you can watch telenovelas at your leisure.
Do you watch telenovelas online or live while they are playing on TV? I think if you go to the Univision website, you can watch them there as well!
If you are trying to choose which telenovela to watch, throughout the years I’ve tried recapping the telenovelas I was currently watching. I get so into the telenovela that I don’t keep up with the recaps. But I totally try!
Pasion y Poder was a good telenovela to watch. Two men that are rivals in love and business, even though one is married to the woman the other one wants to be with. And he is married too!
La Vuida Negra was based on the true life of of Griselda Blanco, the Columbian drug lord. Yes, she was a woman. And yes, people feared her. It’s great to see a woman in that kind of a role even if it wasn’t the most positive way.
Lo Que La Vida Me Robo is the first telenovela that I watched with those two love birds. They ended up making a few more together.
Sortilegio seemed a bit rushed at the end, but I enjoyed it. I hear that Univision tends to trim some telenovelas from time to time, then it starts to be hard to follow. The last one I watched, Color de la Pasion, was addicting and not trimmed at all. I was still sad when that ended.
En Nombre del Amor was dark. I was re-reading that recap and is making me check it out all over again!
And so many more telenovelas that I have reviewed over the years!
