Just Launched: Vogue Curvy

vogue For us curvy chicas, there is now a website dedicated to us! Vogue Curvy is an extension of the Vogue brand. You can find a great site with how to’s, a blog, fashion and accessories, and lots more. They also feature Latina America Ferrera as a Curvy Icon. You go girl! They also have daily suggestions for outfits.

“We are extremely excited about the launch of Vogue Italia’s curvy site, as this is yet another example of the ways in which plus size women are being empowered and respected as trendsetters in the industry, as much as their size 0 counterparts. This is an important move and could be the catalyst for higher end designers and media to cater to real women,” – noted Stephanie, Sobel, President of OneStopPlus.com Group.

In case you don’t know, One Stop Plus is the world’s first and largest plus size web mall who can offer expert commentary on what this move means for the fashion industry. They have a great selection and I have written about them before in Tips for Dressing for your Curves.

No matter what size you are…stay bella!

Great Game for those Rainy (And Snowy!) Days!

calico International Playthings loves to encourage indoor play that is fun and educational for the whole family!

Great for rainy or cold days when outside play isn’t an option, the “Who’s Missing” Calico Card Game brings Calico Critters popular line of favorite friends—like the Fisher Cats and Hopscotch Rabbits—to life in a new way!

For ages 3 and up, this classic card game involves memory, strategy, and of course, fun!  Here’s how to play:

The dealer deals out 5 cards in a row.  Players hide their eyes while the dealer takes away a card.  Who can remember which critters are missing?  As the game is played, the row of cards grows, so the game becomes more challenging the longer you play.  Cards are also fun collector items for Calico Critters fans!

Saturday Steal: Blush

March 6, 2010 by Jai

I wear blush from time to time. Not enough to have a bag full or spend the big bucks on it. But I did try and use Nars Orgasm since it is known to be the best thing for most if not all skin tones. But if you don’t think blush is a big deal you may think twice before spending the $26 on it. Although mine has lasted me forever. But anyway I found a great steal at Sephora in place of this blush. It may be a better fit for the lighter chicas out there since it’s not as deep as the Orgasm. But you can wear this during the day I don’t advise night use of this blush. It’s Sephora’s Blush in Bronze Sensation #12. At half the price tag, this blush acheives a similar effect for $12!

PS: To shop…just click on one of the links! Don’t you just love beauty without breaking the bank? ;) Stay bella!

My Favorite Things Giveaway: iPhone/BlackBerry Case

March 2, 2010 by Jai

IMG00342 A few weeks ago fellow blogging buddy Ms. Latina wrote a post about this website that you can personalize your BlackBerry and iPhone cases in a very chic and cheap way! They were running a sale at the time (not sure if they still are) where you can get a logo and two lines of type on your case for $5. There were also many different colors to choose from.

I for one love my BlackBerry. I also love the my logo she’s so SASSY! So I ordered a case in lavender being the girly girl that I am. I was having a bit of trouble uploading the logo so I sent an email to customer service with the logo attached asking them to add it to my case. I was assured it would be taken care of. And taken care of it was! I get another email (very prompt service by the way) saying the color I chose didn’t show up my logo too well since my logo is so detailed. Instead of a sorry and *shrug* I get a black case that shows my logo beautifully as well as the purple case I ordered free of charge. Customer service is really a big deal for me. You can really win or lose my loyalty due to that. I think they just went above and beyond to deliver a good quality product. And I absolutely love the way it looks on my phone! It looks chic and it protects my phone from scratches and falls!

I love it so much I’m giving away two black cases with the Mami’s Time Out logo on it. One for the iPhone and one for the BlackBerry.

Here’s how to enter!

1. Become a fan on facebook (for one entry).
2. Follow me on Twitter (for one entry)
3. Sign up for our newsletter (validated emails only).
4. Tweet : “Mami’s Time Out is giving away an iPhone and BlackBerry case! #giveaway” One tweet per day and please leave a comment with the url for each tweet.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A GIVEAWAY I’M DOING PERSONALLY AND NOT SPONSORED BY ANY SITE OR COMPANY.

The winners will be picked using random.org and will be posted in a separate post. The winner must contact me within 24 hours of the post to claim their prize. This contest is only open to residents of the United States. This contest will run through March 16, 2010. Suerte chicas!
