My Mother’s Day Wish list

I wanted to share my wish list for el dia de las Madres or Mother’s Day for you folks that don’t speak Spanish. I think I want something domestic-y (is that a word!) and you already know I’ve been eyeing those cute diva aprons and I would also love some gardening accessories. Whether it’s tools, bulbs, a tree or accessories for my garden I’m all game. I did mention that to hubby maybe I should send him the link to this post? lol! Do you think that would be a good hint of what I would like? I’m hoping that it’s a nice day outside so we can have brunch. A handmade card from my Booba would definitely make my day as well. For you Mamis out there…what would you like for Mother’s Day? Do you have any Mother’s Day traditions?

Meet Karla Martinez!

General Mills, Que Rica Vida and Bisquick join together to launch a sweepstakes for a Mother’s Day brunch with the host of Despierta América (Wake up America) Karla Martinez. Five lucky Mamis and their companions will get to celebrate an early Mother’s Day brunch in Miami, FL. They just recently kicked off the sweepstakes and it will run until March 20, 2009. A unique aspect of this sweepstakes will be the four grassroots registration drives Que Rica Vida and Bisquick will sponsor in community centers throughout the Los Angeles, Northern California, Houston and Chicago areas. Noting that not everyone is computer-literate nor has a computer at home, Mejia-Melgar said the idea is to give as many people as possible a chance to enter by taking the sweepstakes beyond the typical channels, and directly into the community.
